The award-winning Café Nucleus introduces our newest café restaurant in Rainham, a warm welcome awaits. The beautiful designs cafe restaurant is a feast for the eyes and offers something unique in Rainham.

Winners of the 2021 Hospitality Business of the year and 2020 Café of the year for the Taste of Kent awards, Café Nucleus Rainham is a unique venue for brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and drinks. Whether you sit downstairs amongst the hustle and bustle of the café, to forgetting yourself upstairs in the quirky parlour on or relive a past holiday in the garden, Café Nucleus Rainham is the perfect location whatever the weather.
A coffee isn’t just a coffee… At Café Nucleus it’s an experience! From field, boat, herd or flock we at Café Nucleus work with our suppliers and our supply chain to ensure we deliver the very best produce from traceable origins. Working with local suppliers we source some fantastic products from our vegan cakes from Peck & Strong in Rural Devon to Kentish milk from Hinxden Farm Dairy.

Café Nucleus Rainham is the perfect choice for Afternoon tea in Kent. You’ll be wined and dined like a king and queen, with a large selection of teas from Tea and the gang and Fortnum & Masons. The upstairs parlour is perfect to sit back and unwind while enjoying the quirky decor. It’s Reminiscent of a lost time.
Why not enjoy Afternoon tea in our Wine Chamber with its exquisite British hand painted Jaguar wallpaper, its beautiful black tones while admiring nearly 2000 hand selected bottles of exquisite wines and champagnes.
The crisp white linen sets the scene, a large selection of perfectly chilled Kentish Sparkling wines and Laurent-Perrier champagnes are available to make your afternoon tea spectacular.
Everything is freshly prepared to your order under the watchful eye of Executive Head Chef Tom Portnall.
Our Afternoon Teas start from £30 per head, served daily from 15:30 in either the upstairs Parlour or the wine chamber.
A fully exchangeable £15 deposit will be taken per person when booking. We operate 48hour cancellation policy.

An exclusive setting spread across three distinct dining rooms, The first floor parlour offer a plush Bougie experience, perfect for private dining. The Wine Chamber is perfect to admire our exquisite collection of wines and champagnes and the café restaurant offers an elegant and defined experience. Our executive head chef, Tom Portnal creates an exciting menu using the very best in-season Kentish produce. We work directly with small farms and suppliers to deliver the very best in-season Kentish and beyond produce. We proud to source the majority of our steak from Hole Park Farm and our A5 (Highest grade of Wagyu) Japanese Wagyu from Kagoshima prefecture.
Our Prix Fixe menu changes every 6 weeks, offering a true taste of Kent throughout the harvests.

There really isn’t anything else quite like Café Nucleus Rainham, it has all the buzz of London without the bother of the train.
The beautiful designed café has a boutique feel with colonial features from the beautiful panelled walls, stunning hand painted British Wallpapers and a unique collection of beautiful art. The gold and crystal chandeliers which perfectly accents our peacock blue walls. The marble and gold tables, walnut and leather chairs everything is a feast for the eyes.
The beautifully decorated wine chamber a cosy dining experience, with accents of black displayed throughout. It’s perfect to admire over 2000 bottles of carefully selected wines and champagnes.
Our first floor Parlour is made for private dining, baby shows, family and friend get togethers. The parlour seats 20 guests across two Italian marble tables. It’s also perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the café restaurant downstairs, so you can sit back, relax and unwind.

Every little detail matters at Café Nucleus, from our hand painted English crockery, Robert Welch cutlery & to our Chef & Sommelier & Riedel crystal glassware, no details is left untouched.
Service Non-Stop
Our daytime menu is served from 9:30am until 6pm daily, with all dishes available. With nearly 130 freshly prepared dishes, there really is something for every palette.
Our diverse menu showcases the very best Kentish produce, working with nearly 50 suppliers to bring a taste of the garden of England to Rainham. Our typical British cafe fare has a distinct European accent from French classics, such as our croque monsieur to our Kentish lamb stew. We have plenty of lighter bites from panini, sandwiches and mouth-watering salads and not forgetting brunch is served all day, non-stop (until 5pm)
Our last booking slot is 5pm Monday to Sunday for our daytime menu. Our daytime menu continues until 6pm on Friday & Saturday. From 6pm we welcome guests to enjoy our Fine Dining Prix Fixe menu in both the wine chamber, the parlour and the café bar.
