Café Nucleus Rainham

Superb food Came here today with family for Father’s Day Very nice clean cosy place. We sat out the far end downstairs as it was bit too noisey in the front end. The staff are so calm and attentive which is rare these days. Very refreshing and respectful. The food was beautifully cooked and presented in nice hot plates. We had the gorgeous brisket and the French toast with scrambled eggs and maple. All So full of flavour. All our plates were clean. Certainly a lovely class of dining. It would be nice if it opened evenings as the older age group find it hard with children and babies screaming. That way it caters for all age ranges. But all in it was the best meal I’ve had had in ages with the nicest of staff. Many thanks from me and my family

Little gem 🙂 Dinner with my friends was amazing. Food was absolutely lovely .asparagus it’s a yes from me ! Steak was cooked exactly how i asked to be, delicious and tasty .Good selection of wine , cocktails was great too! Brilliant staff .Definitely recommend 🙂

An experience not to be missed WOW! From the very moment I stepped into the restaurant I was greeted by very friendly staff. We ordered brunch, from a very tasty selection, and were not disappointed. The food was sumptuous and had a sophisticated flare on the plate. Our waitress, Ame, was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. She was able to provide information on our locally sourced meal and ensured my food alteration catering to my needs; this was all done with a smile and understanding of my dietary requirements. This is definitely a gem of a restaurant and one that I will be returning to and recommending to others. I cannot wait for my return visit to try the evening menu or just for my brunch treat with friends xx

For a birthday Very good and Patrick would get a raise he was amazing and very friendly the food was also delicious and amazing definitely recommend

Somewhat snazzy place to fine dine Atmosphere and ambience in the wine cellar was perfect, music and lighting very nice. Tables were a little small for 4 people. Food was delicious and served beautifully with attentive staff. Wine menu comprehensive and ranges in price to suit all. I found the prawns starter a little watery and tasteless sadly. Husband enjoyed his scallops. Beef pie was piping hot. Chicken supreme was unusual, more of a roast chicken with roast potatoes with sauce on the side, a little dry overall. I would definitely return again to try out more on the menu. Ideal for a celebratory occasion. Cocktails were lovely to end the evening.

Great service, great food & great vibe Me and my partner visited this cafe on a busy bank holiday Monday! Our waiter was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was 10/10! A bit pricey but it was well worth it as you could tell the quality of the ingredients were A class. The restaurant Is well decorated which gives a luxurious and chilled atmosphere! We will definitely come back and try the dinner service!

Lovely place to spend an afternoon Absolutely lovely venue and delicious food. Visited yesterday with a group of friends. The waiter, Patrick was brilliant and very patient with us (too busy talking and not looking at the menu!). The drinks and food were all great. We had a mixture of cocktails, wine and soft drinks and all were well presented and tasty. Food wise, we were surprised at just how extensive the menu is and it was really tough to choose as there was so much choice. In the end the majority of us opted for paninis and some chips for the table to share (highly recommend the truffle & Parmasan chips!). All the food came out together and was all lovely. We finished off with hot drinks and some puddings. All were well served and delicious. The venue itself is beautiful decorated and laid out in several rooms. The toilet facilities were beautiful and very clean with lovely The White Company products. All in all, a wonderful few hours in a beautiful venue - well worth a visit and check out their other Cafes too!

We wanted to catch up with our daughter and great granddaughter and it did not disappoint How lovely was our experience at this beautiful Cafe , the staff were first class , we booked a table for myself my husband my daughter and great granddaughter who is not yet a year old and was teething , the staff was so patient… thank you … and the meals were superb …. My husband and l will definitely be back for an evening meal as the menu looks amazing … thank you once again to all the staff especially

First class food Lovley decorated giving a warm feeling service was good good excellent would visit again slightly pricey but for special occasion worth it

Great mains, average deserts; a nice experience overall Really good mains, deserts were okay but not exceptional and maybe didn't justify the price for them. Service was great, no service charge automatically added thanks - one thing I'm glad they haven't imported from the 'London' experience without the train they advertise. And the waiter made a point of looking away when passing the card machine with a tip option on it so we didn't feel pressured (we left a cash tip as we prefer to.)

Really Pleased No option for afternoon tea on why were you here,strange,one of our daughters treated us,beautiful place inside,can’t fault anything with decor,comfort etc. Staff very attentive,afternoon tea was brought up in stages,and you could have drowned in lattes we were offered,settled at 3. Large slice os sausage roll to start,selection of 4 fingers sandwiches,and were offered more,2 huge scones with jam and clotted cream ,selection of cake,macaroons,eclairs etc What more could you want.yes was quiet but we weren’t rushed. Maybe only tiny point,tad orientated towards Chocolate with cakes etc,but didn’t really bother me.and everyone finds a tiny issue. Rumours taking over neighbouring shop to enlarge building. Well done

oh wow I took the wife here for her birthday and we were not disappointed, its a lovely, cosy restaurant with a great ambiance. The staff were friendly and welcoming but also discreetly attentive. Our starters were gorgeous as were our mains and I have to say the beef pot pie was the best I've ever had ( and I'm in my 70th year). Sadly we didn't have room for dessert but what we saw at other tables looked tasty. Its lovely to have a quality restaurant locally, yes its more expensive than the "chains" but that's like comparing Rolls Royce to Lada. I wish all the success in the world to Cafe Nucleus.

A gem We (four friends) visited here on a Monday lunch time. We loved it here and enjoyed going somewhere so nice. It was extremely busy and therefore a bit noisy at times. The staff were top notch - so friendly and accommodating. We felt valued. We choose meals off the chefs specials. I had the pork dish and it was delicious. It was perhaps a little more expensive here than other restaurants in the area, but you get what you pay for and we felt it was worth every penny. All in all, this place is a gem. We shall definitely return again and again.

A very enjoyable lunch A group of us met here for lunch. There is an extensive, varied menu and a list of seasonal specials. We all ordered different things and we were all very happy with our choices. It is a comfortable, welcoming environment and service was excellent. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!

More cheese Met friends for an evening meal, which we have done before but in the Rochester branch. The main courses were delicious, the service was good and we enjoyed the ambience. The only problem was the cheese and biscuit plate for desert. We ordered 2 to share, however at this price you would expect more cheese (there were 2 slices on each plate). The bulk of the plate was covered in hard, dried apricots and pea shoots. Instead of the apricots, maybe a sliced apple/grapes instead and of course a bit more cheese.

Friendly welcome and good food. A warm and friendly welcome to this bustling restaurant. Service was very good - friendly and attentive without being 'pushy'. There is an extensive range of options on the long menu and by and large we were very pleased with our meal. We were celebrating the 90th birthday of a family member and were touched by the nice gesture from the restaurant of a box of chocolates 🙂 I enjoyed the Steak Frites - the chips were excellent, the steak just a tad over-cooked for my taste. The coq-au-vin was very well received, as was the stew and dumplings, and the pie - but the stroganoff was found wanting - a bit flavourless and 'sloppy'. Servings were generous so few of us were greedy enough to have a dessert, but the apple crumble and custard was outstanding! Overall a very enjoyable lunch with a very few shortcomings.

First visit to new Rainham restaurant Was delighted when Cafe Nucleus decided to open a restaurant in Rainham, having frequented their other sites and always had a pleasant dining experience. We were excited for our first visit to the new restaurant and despite it being a horrible wet Sunday we received a warm welcome when stepping into the little oasis in the heart of Rainham. The place was almost full which we thought was a good sign. The food we had was lovely and perfectly cooked: avocado on sourdough with poached eggs and chilli with rice. We were enjoying the experience so much decided to stay for dessert of apple crumble and ice cream for my other half which he says was just the right consistency and tasted divine. I had 3 scoops of ice cream (pistachio, coffee and vanilla and was blown away by how lovely it was, so thick and creamy, the best ice cream I’ve tasted. Yes, it is a little pricy, but the quality of the food and service, justifies this. There is certainly no other restaurant in the vicinity of the same calibré so it is definitely a welcome addition. Looking forward to returning again soon.

booking difficulties Really enjoyed good food and excellent serice.Dropped one star as found it difficult to book for this visit and more difficult to rebook today. No answer from telephone which indicated booking only for Rochester and Chatham but not Rainham which I wanted. If you try and book online it indicates tables for breakfast are only on first come first served basis .This seems odd
